PSG set to offer Kylian Mbappe mammoth contract likened to ‘pyramids of Egypt’

PSG are reportedly set to table a contract offer to Kylian Mbappe that will dwarf what is on offer at Real Madrid.

Kylian Mbappe and his future could not be less clear heading into the second half of the January transfer window and beyond.

His long-standing transfer saga seems no clearer to a resolution despite many years of speculation.

The 25-year-old’s contract is set to expire at the end of the current season, meaning clubs are free to approach this month already.

There were reports claiming that Real Madrid had given Mbappe until the 15th of this month to make decision about joining Los Blancos.

That ‘deadline’ has passed now, with Mbappe seemingly no closer to joining the Spanish giants.

Other than PSG, Real Madrid are viewed as the favourites for the Frenchman, with Liverpool a distant second.

Historic new contract at PSG for Kylian Mbappe

Amongst all the speculation surrounding the 25-year-old, the French club understandably are keen to keep hold of their franchise player.

Moreso for the allure and marketability of Ligue 1, as if Mbappe leaves the league will lose much of its pull and recognition.

According to RMC Sport journalist Daniel Riolo, Kylian Mbappe will be offered a historic new contract at the Parc des Princes.

The terms of the contract are said to be unmatchable by any other football club on the planet.

What did Daniel Riolo say about Kylian Mbappe?

Speaking with RMC, Riolo said:

“In this story with Mbappe, you have to have clear ideas.”

“On the one hand, we have an offer for him to extend, which is ancient Rome, ancient Greece, and the pyramids of Egypt given to a player.”

“Something never seen before which will far exceed 100 million per season.

“So something that no club will ever be able to match.”

“What is being offered to Mbappe by PSG is incredible.”

The Franco-Italian sports journalist continued by claiming that Mbappe would have to choose between ‘coming down to Earth’ and choosing Madrid or continuing to be the king at PSG:

“It will be with advantages for the brother, for the family.

“For everyone… the player agency that the mother wants to set up.”

“Honestly, it’s incredible stuff.”

“On the other side, we have something which is, I was going to say normal, to say that it’s normal when we talk about Real.”

“So it’s a normal salary for football stars.”

“we’re going to talk about 30 million euros and maybe a little more.”

“And he’s not the king of the club. Basically, we bring him back down to Earth. Mbappe is in the middle and he has to choose between that.”

Very intense words from the journalist, with Mbappe seemingly having to decide between the two options imminently.

What does this mean for Liverpool?

It always felt like a two-horse race for Kylian Mbappe, with the Anfield club a distant third.

Liverpool simply cannot match the financial strength of both PSG and Real Madrid.

For example, Mohamed Salah earns around 18 million pounds per annum at Anfield.

FSG and co. already deviated from their wage structure to put the Egyptian on that kind of money.

There is no way the Reds could fund the 30-million-euro wage that Mbappe is being offered at Madrid.

Then PSG enter the fray with their ‘pyramids of Egypt’ contract, which will surely eclipse Real Madrid’s offer.

Therefore, it feels like the far-fetched dream to bring Mbappe to Merseyside can be put to rest – at least for now.
