Liverpool forward Luis Diaz has addressed speculation surrounding his future at Anfield amid reported interest from Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain.

Since his £50 million transfer from Porto in January 2022, Diaz has emerged as a key asset for Liverpool, contributing 24 goals and 13 assists in 96 appearances for the Reds.

Earlier reports indicated that Paris Saint-Germain were eyeing Diaz as a potential target, particularly in light of the anticipated departure of Kylian Mbappe in the upcoming summer transfer window.

Mbappe’s rumoured move to Real Madrid on a free transfer has fuelled speculation that PSG might pursue Diaz to strengthen their attacking options.

The France international, on Friday, confirmed he will leave Paris Saint-Germain at the end of the 2023-24 season.

The World Cup winner took to his social media platforms to share the news with his fans via a video announcement.

Meanwhile, Barcelona are reportedly looking to bolster their squad with two or three new signings, with a focus on enhancing their winger and midfielder positions.

Diaz, who has been prominently linked with a move in recent months, is said to be interested in joining the Spanish giants.

Currently under contract until 2027, Diaz has played a crucial role in Liverpool’s squad throughout the 2023-24 campaign.

He has scored 13 goals and provided five assists in 46 appearances for Jurgen Klopp’s side.

Diaz has affirmed his contentment at the club amid transfer rumours. Despite reported interest from Barcelona and PSG, Diaz has expressed his happiness at Anfield.

The South American said: “You learn more and more to be a professional, to be a better person, to be a good teammate and a good guy.

“The truth is that I am very happy to be here.

‘Great years are coming for the club, I have no doubt about that.

“Personally, I will always try to do my best, always try to give 100 per cent, to always stand out on the field, which is what I came [here] to do. I’m always grateful to God for every opportunity.”
