Yesterday’s display at Wolves served as a stark reminder of how badly Liverpool require a squad overhaul. Midfield is the major area of Liverpool’s team that requires a rebuild, but the team’s defense has been an area of concern for some time.

Wayne Veysey of Football Insider now reports that Liverpool are indeed looking to move on from some of their defensive options, with Jurgen Klopp willing to listen to offers for Joel Matip in the summer.

The Cameroonian has seen a lot of first team football this season as a result of injuries. He has been a popular figure in the Liverpool dressing room since his arrival in 2016 and was a stalwart in the team alongside Virgil van Dijk for several seasons.

At 31, Jurgen Klopp will have to consider whether or not he wants to move on from Matip, who’s contract runs until 2024.
