The Cameroonian has seen a lot of first team football this season as a result of injuries. He has been a popular figure in the Liverpool dressing room since his arrival in 2016 and was a stalwart in the team alongside Virgil van Dijk for several seasons.
At 31, Jurgen Klopp will have to consider whether or not he wants to move on from Matip, who’s contract runs until 2024.
