Speaking on the Born ‘n Red YouTube channel, journalist David Lynch touched on Liverpool’s pursuit for a central defender and discussed one of the game’s leading defenders.
Speaking to the hosts, Lynch claimed that “I’ve absolutely no doubt that Liverpool will be all over Joško Gvardiol in the summer. The Red Bull link, I know they watch them regularly and will absolutely love him.”
As reported on this website, Gvardiol has spoken about his dream of playing for Liverpool in the past.
Speaking to RTL previously the defender discussed a range of topics.
One of them included his future. He admitted that he would most like to play in the Premier League and stated, “since I was little, I watched a lot of Liverpool matches with my dad, and we covered every season in detail. It is a club that has remained in my heart.”
Liverpool have done business with Red Bull Leipzig in the past by signing players like Ibrahima Konate, Naby Keita, and Taki Minamino.
However, Lynch did state that the price tag could be an issue for Liverpool.
“He says he’s really keen on coming to Liverpool but it’s just the price tag that could be an issue,” he continued on the video.
“You would have to do something in terms of moving a centre-half on for decent-ish money I think to even look at that. Agreeing with the player would obviously be no problem because he’d be all over it but it just looks a difficult deal to do”.
