90 min.com reports that Liverpool are one of several Premier League teams to send scouts to watch Mainz midfielder Anton Stach. Tottenham, West Ham and Newcastle have also previously sent scouts to watch the 24-year-old.
Stach currently has a contract at Mainz until 2024 with an option of a further year having joined from Greuther Fürth for €3.50m. The German international is currently valued at €15.00m by transfermarkt.
The midfielder is versatile and can play as a defensive midfielder as well as further up the pitch as well. The 24-year-old has played 22 times for Mainz this season scoring once and assisting three times.
The report comes after Liverpool continue to look at targets to help rejuvenate their ageing midfield. With Liverpool committed to doing everything possible to sign Jude Bellingham from Borussia Dortmund, Stach will offer a cheaper option who can complement the Englishman. Stach also gives Jürgen Klopp the opportunity to develop the midfielder.
Mainz’s second most expensive sale ever saw Jean-Philippe Gbamin join Everton for €25.00m, who is now on loan at Trabzonspor in Turkey.
