
Liverpool’s Premier League rivals Chelsea are bolstering their squad during the January transfer window.
Chelsea are set to unveil Mykhaylo Mudryk as their new signing today after reportedly offering double the salary of what Arsenal were willing to pay.
Arsenal were linked for a long period with the signing but it is believed Chelsea out muscled their London rivals with a massive financial package.
It is reported that Chelsea will pay FC Shakhtar Donetsk €70M up front with an additional €30M in bonuses.
Chelsea and Liverpool were linked to Enzo Fernandez of Benfica but Chelsea have moved on swiftly and secured another top talent.
Mykhaylo Mudryk has been spotted in Stamford Bridge prior to Chelsea’s tie with Crystal Palace.
There were rumours shared online early in the season, by some outlets, that Liverpool may have been interested in signing the Ukrainian star and it wouldn’t have been a surprise if the Liverpool hierarchy were looking at the player who has impressed massively in the UEFA Champions League this season. However, once the Cody Gakpo news was revealed, it was clear that his signing wasn’t going to happen for Liverpool.
Having signed the likes of David Datro Fofana, Benoit Badiashile, Joao Felix and now Mykhaylo Mudryk in January, Chelsea are really pushing out the boat to give themselves a huge edge in the race for the top four this season.
