Inter Milan Defender Milan Skriniar has rejected several contract offers and now looks set to be available on a free transfer this summer when his contract expires.

Skriniar has been linked with several different European clubs but now according to journalist Graeme Bailey, Liverpool could be in the race for his signing.

“A lot of English clubs are looking at this guy,” Bailey said on 90min’s Talking Transfers podcast.

“I wouldn’t be surprised if Man United, Liverpool, City, Arsenal, Chelsea, any of them come in. They’re all throwing their hats into the ring on this one.”

“They weren’t expecting him to be a free agent. I think we’ll see a lot of Premier League interest come up in the next few weeks.”

The Slovakian International has made 229 Serie A appearances. During this time he won the league once as well as three cups with Inter. At 27 years of age, he is in the prime of his career and is widely considered one of the top central defenders in Europe.

Liverpool’s defense has been unpredictable this season. The arrival of a world class player like Skriniar could bring back the armored defensive line we know the Reds had in the past.
