Online publication TEAMtalk have published an exclusive where they’ve shared news that Liverpool are one of the teams ready to submit contract offers to Inter Milan and Slovakia central defender Milan Skriniar.

Skriniar, 27, has developed a reputation as one of the best centre backs in Europe since moving to Inter Milan from Sampdoria in 2017 – barely 18 months after he was playing in the Slovakian Superliga, the top flight in Slovak football.

Over the years Skriniar has been linked to a host of the elite within European football including the likes of Barcelona, Paris Saint Germain, Manchester United and Liverpool. And with the defender’s contract running out in the summer, the race for his signature seems to have begun.

According to TEAMtalk, Liverpool, Tottenham, Newcastle United and Manchester United are all Premier League clubs ready to send offers to the agent of Skriniar. Many originally thought that Skriniar was destined to renew his contract with Inter but the delay in any official announcement from the player or the club has piqued interest with the English Champions League hopefuls it seems.

Whether this story is accurate or not remains to be seen. It’s not unusual for an agent to speak to the press in order to get their existing club to increase the contract offer on the table and/or to focus minds at potential rivals who are also interested in the player and push the offers higher.

Either way, there’s no doubt that Milan Skriniar is an elite level central defender who any top Champions League team could use, including Liverpool, and the race for his signature should be hotting up in the coming weeks and months.
