Liverpool have announced the permanent departure of youngster Jake Cain, who has joined League 2 side Swindon Town. Cain first joined Liverpool at the age of 9 and progressed through the ranks of the academy.

The midfielder was part of the Liverpool squad that won the FA Youth Cup in 2019. He made his first senior appearance for Liverpool in an FA Cup fixture against Shrewsbury Town in February 2020.

Cain has already spent some time in League 2, having enjoyed a loan spell at Notts County in the 2021/22 season.

Liverpool FC wished the youngster well, stating, “Everyone at LFC would like to wish Jake the very best of luck in his future career.”
