As the summer transfer window gets closer and closer, the rumour mill has started to turn once again.

Last summer, Liverpool found themselves in need for a rebuild in order to become competitive once again.

This resulted in a complete overhaul of thier midfield and resulted in the club bringing the likes of Dominik Szoboszlai and Wataru Endo to the club.

The previous January transfer window, saw Cody Gakpo brought to the club in order to bolster the Reds’ attacking ranks.

Whilst the January of 2021/22 saw the addition of Luis Diaz from FC Porto. Since then, the Colombia international has played a total of 86 times for the Reds and has contributed to 35 goals.

However, over the course of the 2023/24 campaign, his composure in the final-third has seemed to lack when compared to previous terms.

The winger has still managed to score 11 times for the Reds this term, however, he could likely have almost double that amount if his finishing was at a higher standard.

What Fabrizio Romano had to say about Luis Diaz’s Liverpool future

Due to these lacklusture performances, his future has been brought into question.

Just yesterday, Foot Mercato claimed that Diaz was Paris Saint-Germain’s ‘top priority‘ this summer.

However, Fabrizio Romano has seemingly squashed these rumours and has claimed that the French side have ‘different priorities.’

Although his performances thus far have admittedly been below the standards expected of him in recent weeks, Diaz still has a lot to bring to the Reds’ squad.

As aforementioned, despite not having the best of times in front of goal of late, he has still managed to contribute to a total of 16 goals this season.

His versatility alongside the way he can carry the ball up the pitch when on the attack is second to none and can’t be matched by another one of Klopp’s players.

Hence, why, it’s not surprising that Liverpool have ‘no desire or plan‘ to sell the Colombia international.

The links to PSG also seem fairly strange as the Capital-based club only recently bought Ousmane Dembele from Barcelona to bolster their attacking ranks.

However, with Kylian Mbappe seemingly leaving PSG in the summer, it’s likely that this won’t be last of them being linked with an attacker over the course of summer.
