Liverpool have been linked to a number of players recently. One of those is Juventus’ Federico Chiesa.
Last week Calciomercato.com reported that Jurgen Klopp were interested in the Juventus star.
The report states that Chiesa, who just recently returned from injury, would cost €60M.
Now Gianluca Di Marzio has spoken to the dutch football website soccernews.nl.
He has given his thoughts on Chiesa potentially joining Liverpool and Di Marzio signaled that Liverpool could be in for a busy summer. Di Marzio expects Liverpool ‘to make a number of fury purchases.’
On Chiesa:
“I think every player would like to play under Jurgen Klopp”, Di Marzio said.
According to the sports website salary sport, Chiesa currently earns £54,000 per week.
Di Marzio went on to speak about the summer transfer window: “I actually expect them to make a number of fury purchases, to ‘attack’ the summer transfer window.
“They want to get a lot of new players and start a new era in order to become champions in the Premier League again. This year they are not having a positive season.”
Di Marzio then discusses Liverpool going for Chiesa: “I think it depends on the project, but for him it could be a perfect transfer.”
As stated above Chiesa is just one of a number of players Liverpool seems to be linked to on a weekly basis, so we won’t get our hopes up anytime soon.
According to alternative reports coming from within Italy, Chiesa has also been linked with a move to Arsenal where it’s been reported that he’s their number one target. So it clearly seems that Chiesa and/or his agent is trying to muster interest in his player from within Premier League clubs.
Whether Chiesa moves to the Premier League with Liverpool or not, there’s no doubting that Chiesa has the potential to be a top player if he can put his injury troubles behind him.
