Chelsea have entered the race to sign Enzo Fernandez according to reports.
Cmjornal in Portugal report that an entourage from Chelsea have arrived in Lisbon in an effort to tie up a deal for the World Cup winner. Cmjornal reported earlier this week that Liverpool made a €100M offer for Fernandez which was swiftly rejected. Numerous reports state that Benfica Sporting Director Rui Costa will not entertain any offer of less than €120M.
The report states that Chelsea have made a €120M offer for Fernandez.
Earlier today Fernandez refused to get caught up in the hype surrounding his future: “Right now I don’t know anything about it, it’s a matter for my representative. I don’t want to get into the topic. I’m focused on Benfica and in a few days we have a game ahead of us”, shot the midfielder during the tribute, aiming at the trip this Friday to the ground Braga, in a match counting for the 14th round.”
Liverpool have been heavily linked with Fernandez over the past few weeks. Pep Lijnders raised some eyebrows in his pre-match press conference earlier in the week when he continually referred to Fernandez as ‘Enzo’. It sounded friendly.
Earlier today Ojogo reported that Liverpool and Manchester United have intensified their efforts to sign Fernandez.
