Liverpool centre back, Virgil Van Dijk said after yesterdays game he is excited about Liverpools new forwards line.
All three (Salah, Nunez and Gakpo) scored two goals each in the 7-0 demolition job of Manchester United.
The other goal was scored by Firmino, who has stated he will leave at the end of the season.
In the past 5 years, we’ve became accustomed to Liverpool’s explosive front 3 of Mane, Salah and Firmino.
However, the new front three are already starting to terrify teams.
Nunez now has 14 goals this season, while Gakpo netted his fourth since signing in January.
Van Dijk hailed world class strikes yesterday and said Gakpo’s first goal was “outstanding”.
He went on further to say to reporters after the game [about Gakpo]:
“Obviously it’s been a difficult time to come in any club, I think, in the winter for any player but he’s settling in very well,” he said. “It’s a very difficult position to play”.
“Obviously he learns from one of the best, I think, each and every day with Bobby Firmino. He has to keep going, keep the confidence, keep the belief and stick together”.
“I think he will be fine for this club and I mentioned it already before but he’s a fantastic player. Darwin is causing chaos all the time with his speed, his passion and also with the quality.”
