
Virgil van Dijk was in attendance at FIFA’s annual The Best awards where the Dutchman was honoured with a place in the FIFA Pro World XI as voted by his fellow players.
“This is the biggest recognition you can get because here you get voted by the players. They know what you go through, day in and day out”, Van Dijk said on receiving the award.

The 31-year-old spoke to German football and Sky Sports Germany journalist Florian Plettenburg at the event.
The defender was asked by Plettenburg about Jurgen Klopp’s long-term future at Liverpool.
Van Dijk replied, “Jürgen Klopp is the boss & that doesn’t change. I‘m very happy with him. He‘s very happy at Liverpool. Hopefully better times are coming again. That’s we are working for.“
