Liverpool youngster Tyler Morton has enjoyed a successful loan spell and Blackburn this season and has seen an enormous amount of first team football, making 40 appearances for the Championship side in all competitions.
The 20-year-old has has made 25 starts for the Lancashire club and has made the third-most appearances for Jon Dahl Tomasson’s team.
Reports state that Liverpool are very happy with Morton’s progress and development this season Liverpool journalist James Pearce has provided an update on Morton’s future at the club.
Pearce wrote for The Athletic on Liverpool’s future plans for Tyler Morton. Pearce states that Morton will likely be part of Liverpool’s pre-season ahead of the 2023/24 campaign.
“The feedback from Blackburn to Liverpool has been really positive. It’s been a great loan spell in terms of aiding his development.
“I believe the plan is for Morton to come back and start pre-season at Liverpool and then it’s down to him to prove he should be part of Klopp’s plans for 2023-24.”
The young midfielder will hope to follow in the footsteps of Stefan Bajcetic, who shone on several occasions for the first team this season.
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Naby Keita are set to depart Liverpool this summer on free transfers, this will likely give Bajcetic more opportunities in the side.
Perhaps Morton could take Bajcetic’s place in the midfield hierarchy next season and prove himself as an option in the position.
Morton has made 9 first team appearances for Liverpool in total. The young Englishman has two assists to his name in the Championship this season.
