Mike Verweij, writing for De Telegraaf, broke the news that Ajax were interested in Julian Ward for their Sporting Director’s position.
Ward will leave Liverpool at the end of the season after just one year in the role.
The Telegraph have reported that Ajax are ‘eyeing talks’ with Ward.
The report states that Ward cannot work with any Premier League club for two transfer windows but he would be free to join Ajax.
They also reported that Nice have an interested in Ward.
He speaks a number of languages fluently and specialises in the Brazilian and Portuguese markets.
Paul Mitchell has been linked with the role that Ward will leave vacant.
The report also states: ‘Edwin van der Sar, Ajax’s chief executive, will be part of the process of recruiting the club’s next sporting director but others on the board will be part of the final decision.’
