Liverpool have had an excellent season so far in all competitions as Jurgen Klopp has got his side challenging on four fronts well into the new year.

The Reds currently sit top of the Premier League having only lost one game throughout the campaign which they arguably should not have lost due to the fact the VAR made a massive mistake disallowing a Luis Diaz goal for offside when he was clearly on.

They made sure they skipped the playoff game in the Europa League by finishing top of their group to progress right through to the round of 16.

Whilst Liverpool have also excelled in the domestic cup competitions as they got past the FA Cup third round after they were given a tough draw due to facing Arsenal away yet they even kept a clean sheet against Mikel Arteta’s side.

As well as that they are one game away from Wembley in the Carabao Cup as they defeated Fulham 2-1 in the semi-final first leg after beating Leicester City, Bournemouth and West Ham United to reach that stage.

Due to the effort from everyone in Klopp’s squad being so mammoth, there have been plenty of key players for the German coach but there have been four that have been so important to him for years now.

Alisson Becker, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Virgil Van Dijk and Mohamed Salah have been vital to everything good Liverpool have done for a long time now and this season that has been the case.

Alexander-Arnold has taken the limelight in recent games as he dragged Liverpool past Arsenal with a fantastic individual performance in the FA Cup.

His form in December meant that he was voted as the PFA Premier League fans’ player of the month and he beat five other players who were shortlisted for the award.

Due to his he done an interview with the professional footballers association and he gave some insight about the campaign that he is having.

Trent Alexander-Arnold reveals best moment of season

The full-back has taken on a bigger role this season as he was appointed the vice-captain due to the fact Jordan Henderson and James Milner left in the summer.

He has been at the heart of Liverpool’s attacks in his inverted role and even playing in midfield at times which has allowed him to get further forward.

The England international was asked what his favourite moment of the campaign has been so far in a series of quick fire question for the PFA’s social media.

Without hesitation he said: “Goal against Fulham.”

His strike at Anfield against Fulham was a late winner in one of the most dramatic games in the Premier League in this 2023/24 season.

Liverpool had taken the lead early in the first half but due to a Bernd Leno own goal after a magnificent free-kick from Alexander-Arnold but Fulham equalised rather quickly.

Alexis Mac Allister scored the December goal of the month to put The Reds back in the lead but Fulham again got a goal back just before half-time.

They took the lead with ten minutes to go but Wataru Endo equalised with a lovely shot then a minute later Alexander-Arnold rifled the ball past Leno to explode Anfield into life.

Therefore it is no surprise that his is favourite moment so far as many supporters would probably agree it was a perfect way to end a classic game.
