Bayern Munich forward Sadio Mane did a quick fire round of questions with 11teamsports.com on their Instagram in a reel and name dropped a couple of former Liverpool teammates in his answers.
When asked, the ex-Liverpool player named Jordan Henderson as the best leader he’s ever played with and, some would say surprisingly, Divick Origi as the best finisher he has ever played with.
When it comes to Henderson as the best leader, that’s maybe not so surprising. During his time at Liverpool and also with England, Jordan Henderson has garnered a reputation of being a great leader. The fact that Sadio Mane responded so emphatically when it came to the Sunderland born midfielder said it all.
The Origi one is a bit more surprising. Mane has played with some world class attackers in his time. From Liverpool legends such as Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino to the likes of Bayern Munich star Thomas Muller, there are likely to have been a great selection of players he could have gone for.
However, the fact that he chose Origi says something about the finishing ability of the Belgian. Maybe seeing the Liverpool cult hero Origi close hand and regularly in training, an opportunity that not many others will have, played a part in his answer.
The Senegalese international is currently sidelined with an injury and missed Bayern Munich’s win over PSG during the week.
