It was an extraordinary afternoon at Anfield yesterday evening as Liverpool thrashed Manchester United 7-0.
Multiple records were broken over the course of the game, namely Mohamed Salah overtaken Robbie Fowler as Liverpool’s all time top scorer in the Premier League, scoring first his 128th to equal Fowler’s record.
The Egyptian then scored his second of the game and his 129th Premier League goal for The Reds, becoming the club’s top scorer ever in the top flight.
An unfortunate record from Manchester United’s perspective was broken as it the club’s worst competitive defeat since 1931 and easily Erik Ten Haag’s worst day as the Manchester United manager.
Liverpool legend Robbie Fowler was there to witness the historic moment and paid tribute to Salah on Twitter after the game.
Salah has been one of the best players in the world since signing from Roma in 2017 and is now in the debate to be considered the best ever Liverpool player.
