Stefan Bajcetic played in midfield in Liverpool’s 5-2 defeat to Real Madrid on Tuesday night and a report has emerged stating that Los Blancos were hugely impressed with the 18-year-old. The Spaniard is now reportedly on Madrid’s radar.
The report comes from Calcio Mercato, who claim that Barcelona are also interested in the young midfielder, who has impressed many back in his homeland of Spain with his performances in England.
Bajcetic just recently signed a new contract with Liverpool worth up to £40,000 a week.
Bajcetic’s ascension has been one of the highlights of Liverpool’s season. The youngster has adapted to the pressure of Premier League first team football perfectly, playing in deep midfield when an injury to Thiago required it.
Bajcetic’s quick feet, calmness under pressure and lovely range of passing is unusual to see from such a young central midfielder.
The 18-year-old plays with a calmness and maturity far beyond his years. It is no wonder his performances are being noticed by other top clubs around Europe, especially Real Madrid, who have shown themselves to be among the best poachers of young players in world football.
