Liverpool were linked to a wide variety of midfielders in the summer but ultimately signed Alexis Mac Allister, Dominik Szoboszlai, Wataru Endo and Ryan Gravenberch.
One name who was continually linked to a move to Anfield was Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder Manu Koné.
The chances of Koné getting a move in the summer were made more difficult when the 22-year-old sustained a nasty injury while representing the France U-21’s at the European Championships.
However, a new report from Calcio Mercato states that Koné initial price tag €45 million could be almost halved to €25 million in January.
The report states that Liverpool still have a serious interest in the player but Juventus are the latest big club to be admirers of Koné.
Whether or not Liverpool will seek to take advantage of the reported price cut on Koné in January remains to be seen.
Most supporters would argue a central defender should be prioritised ahead of any other signing.
