A report from FootballTransfers has claimed that Liverpool are looking at signing Red Bull Salzburg’s Crotian midfielder Luka Sučić in the summer transfer window.
Sučić is a midfielder who has been on Liverpool’s radar for a couple of years now and is one of many midfielders that the club are reported to be looking at to bring in during the summer.
For those who may not have seen much of the player, he is a predominantly left footed midfielder who likes to cut in from the right hand side and his stats are impressive – getting a remarkable 28 goal contributions (goals and assists) in 57 appearances since joining Salzburg in 2020.
Still very young, the 20 year old could prove to be one for the future for The Reds. With age on his side and with the likelihood of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Naby Keita and James Milner all leaving the club on free transfers in the summer, Sučić can prove to be a smart buy.
With a reported low release clause of between €15 to €20 million, a bid may force RB Salzburg to allow the player to leave.
According to the report, Khephren Thuram of Nice and Kouadio Kone of Borussia Monchengladbach are also in consideration as potential options, with the club intent on bringing in a young player who can develop at the club.
It is clear that Jude Bellingham is and will be Liverpool’s priority in the summer but it may be a case of needing more than just the Dortmund 19-year-old, so Luka Sučić could show to be a very shroud signing and may turn out to be another brilliant player under the tutelage Jürgen Klopp.
