Liverpool are set to undergo a squad overhaul in the summer, with several players set to depart Anfield upon the expiration of their contracts and others likely to be sold.
The defensive unit of Jurgen Klopp’s team is need of improvement and a new report claims that Liverpool have offered one of their veteran defenders to Italian clubs for a potential sale in the summer.
A report from Italian publication Calciomercato claims that Cameroonian centre-back Joel Matip has been offered by Liverpool to Serie A giants AS Roma and Juventus.
Matip will enter the last year of his contract next season and the report states that Liverpool may decide to sell the 31-year-old this summer to avoid losing him for free in 2024.
The report also claims that Liverpool would be willing to accept a fee of around £10 million for Matip.
Matip has seen limited playing time this season and may decide that it would be in his interest to depart Anfield this summer.
