As Liverpool look to overhaul their midfield in the summer, a variety of targets have been linked with a move to Anfield. Jude Bellingham and Mason Mount are two of the most high-profile players heavily linked with a move to Liverpool.
However, a second Chelsea midfielder is now reportedly on Liverpool’s radar.
Pete O’Rourke of Football Insider reports that N’Golo Kante’s situation at Chelsea is being “closely monitored” by Liverpool.
The World Cup winner has been plaged by injuries in recent seasons but his pedigree and quality as one of the best defensive midfielders in the world is unquestionable.
Kante has been in negotiations with Chelsea about extending his current deal, which expires this summer.
O’Rourke writes that the two-time Premier League winner is also admired by PSG.
The reports that states that Chelsea consider the resigning of Kante a priority as negotiations with Mason Mount over a new contract have stalled as of late.
Kante has managed just two Premier League appearances this season in Chelsea’s first two games. The 31-year-old has yet to feature since Graham Potter took charge of the Blues.
