Liverpool have appointed a new director of research, Will Spearman will take over from Dr Ian Graham who will leave the club at the end of the season, according to The Athletic.
Spearman was previously the clubs lead data scientist.
The Athletic report that Spearman holds a doctorate in physics from Harvard University and previously worked at the European Organisation for Nuclear Research (CERN).
He joined Liverpool in 2018.
Dr Ian Graham, a data physicist, joined Liverpool in 2018 and he has been credited with identifying signings like Sadio Mane, Mohamed Salah, and Andy Robertson.
He was instrumental in bringing Jurgen Klopp to the club also with research he conducted.
Spearman’s appointment brings some certainty to the club in changing times.
