Kaveh Solhekol has provided another update on the latest developments in the potential sale of Liverpool FC. Solhekol was speaking on Sky Sports.

“My sense is that Qatar definitely wants to buy or invest a Premier League club to build on, what they see, is the success of the World Cup”, he said today.

“And, of course, they’re aware that clubs like Manchester United and Liverpool are effectively for sale. They are looking at those two clubs very, very closely but they’re also looking at other opportunities in the Premier League as well”.

Speculation has been rampant for many weeks now that the Qatar Investment Authority have been looking to buying Liverpool Football Club, with news breaking yesterday that there was another Qatari group now looking at bidding for Manchester United. As the two biggest clubs in England, and arguably world football, it’s an unprecedented opportunity for outside investors to buy such giants of the football world.

But the news that Qatari investors are also looking at other Premier League clubs is also interested. Could this mean that they will look to buy other clubs if they feel the prices are two high for Liverpool and Manchester United?

Whatever the case, the next few weeks and months will be fascinating to see who and how investors get involved with these two clubs.
