
Liverpool are set to undergo a major squad overhaul in the summer, with several players departing the club upon the expiration of their contracts and others likely to be sold for a fee. The defensive unit is an area Liverpool will be looking to bring in some fresh blood.
The reliable Christian Falk has reported for Caught Offside that Liverpool are one of several clubs interested in Dutch defender Micky van de Ven, who plays for Vfl Wolfsburg in the Bundesliga.
The 21-year-old, standing at 6ft3, is highly rated and is known for his quickness, recording a speed of 35.9km per hour.
Van de Ven has a contract with Wolfsburg until 2027 but Falk reports that the club would be willing to offers of €30 million or more.
Falk also reports that most of the top clubs in Europe are scouting Van de Ven, with Liverpool, Manchester City, Arsenal, Barcelona, Inter Milan, Juventus, Roma and AC Milan all keen on the defender.
Van de Ven is left footed and has played at left-back before. He has made 25 Bundesliga appearances this season and has scored a goal and also registered two assists.
