Liverpool are reportedly keen on a move for Ajax centre-back Jorrel Hato as the Reds already put plans into place for the January window.
Liverpool invested heavily in their midfield this summer but missed on bringing in a central defender, an area of the pitch which is in definite need of some reinforcements.
The news comes from Milan Keskin of Football Transfers.
At only 17, Hato has managed to make his mark in the Ajax first team. In what was a disappointing season for the Dutch giants last season, Hato made his first-team debut at centre-back at just 16 years old.
After several players left the club this summer, Hato has become an important figure in the senior team.
To become so trusted in central defence at such a young age bodes well for Hato’s future in the game.
Likened to former Ajax captain Matthijs de Ligt, the report states that Hato will be advised by this around him to continue with Ajax for a few more seasons but the Dutch teenager is already attracting for big clubs in Europe.
