With Liverpool set to undergo a squad overhaul in the summer, particularly in midfield, several departures are expected away from Anfield at the end of the season.

Alongside Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Naby Keita and James Milner, all whose contracts expire at the end of the season, Fabinho has now been linked with a move back to a former club.

Spanish publication Fichajes.Net report that Real Madrid are interested in a summer move for the Brazilian.

Fabinho has struggled for form this season and rumours of Jurgen Klopp’s desire to move on from the 29-year-old have been circulating for some time.

Fabinho played one game while on loan at Real Madrid in 2013 before moving to Monaco.

Fabinho is one player who would still bring in a high fee if sold. The Brazilian is estimated to be valued at around €55 million.

If Liverpool are to bring in several midfield players, cashing in on Fabinho before he loses value may be something the club consider in the summer.[tps_header][/tps_header]
