Liverpool will face one of their toughest challenges yet this season tomorrow evening when they face Newcastle United at St. James Park.

Newcastle sit five places above Liverpool in the Premier League table in 4th and are quickly on their way to Champions League football next season.

The Reds are fresh of their 2-0 victory in the Merseyside Derby and will hope a massive win at one of the toughest grounds in the league will spark more momentum as they try to climb back up the table.

Darwin Nunez, Mohamed Salah and Cody Gakpo will have to be at their best as they face the best defence in the league by far. Newcastle have conceded just 13 goals this campaign, allowing just 6 goals to slip past them at home all season.

Newcastle are expected to have Miguel Almiron and Allan Saint-Maximin in their squad after they sustained minor knocks.

Virgil van Dijk is expected to return to the starting line-up tomorrow while Arthur Melo may be fit enough to return to the matchday squad. Ibrahima Konate, Luis Diaz, Thiago Alcantara and Calvin Ramsay are all ruled out for the Reds.

The reverse fixture in August ended in dramatic fashion when Fabio Carvalho scored in injury time to secure a 2-1 victory to Liverpool.

What channel is it on?

The game will kick-off at 5:30pm on Sky Sports.
