Sean Dyche and Jurgen Klopp meet for the first time in a Merseyside Derby on Monday night when Everton make their way to Anfield.
A win in the Derby will provide Jurgen Klopp’s team with the perfect stepping stone to build some momentum, with the team only managing one win in their last seven games. The Reds were beaten 3-0 in a horrific away defeat to Wolves in the last game week, after which Jurgen Klopp said he was “so disappointed and angry”.
Sean Dyche had the dream start to his managerial role at Everton when his team earned a hard-fought 1-0 victory against the league-leaders Arsenal last weekend. Another victory in the Derby would give Everton a massive boost in their fight for survival.
Virgil van Dijk, Roberto Firmino, Diogo Jota, and Arthur Melo have all recently returned to training for the Reds but a start is unlikely for any of the four.
Ibrahima Konate and Luis Diaz are still sidelined, and fresh injury worries were reported today with both Thiago Alcantara and Calvin Ramsey ruled out for significant periods.
Everton will be without their main man upfront Dominic Calvert-Lewin who is still out injured.
The reverse fixture ended 0-0 back in September.
What channel is it on?
Sky Sports will broadcast the game on Monday Night Football. (KO 8pm).
