Ex-Manchester United defender Patrice Evra has shed light on Mohamed Salah following his performance against a poor Manchester United side.
On Rio Ferdinand’s YouTube channel, Evra has said Salah was “on fire” for the home side in Sunday’s all-important clash where Liverpool left victors.
Ferdinand agreed with his ex-teammates’ comments and noted that the brilliant Egyptian “tormented” in-form Englishman Luke Shaw.
Salah produced an all-time performance when it mattered the most and chipped in with two goals and two assists in Liverpool’s 7-0 romp against Manchester United.
The former Chelsea forward was arguably the best player on the afternoon and deserves every ounce of praise thrown his way.
Evra said: “Mo Salah, you have to give credit to him. He was on fire.”
Ferdinand replied: “He tormented Luke Shaw.”
The Egyptian has not endured his brightest of seasons, but is still going under the radar for his performances.
We have seen on many occasions this term where Salah has not seemed like his old self, but his performance against Liverpool’s bitter rivals will fill Liverpool supporters with hope that a resurgence is looming.
Mohamed Salah has scored 11 times in the Premier League this season and currently sits joint fifth in the top goal scorer rankings alongside Arsenal’s Gabriel Martinelli.
He has become a victim of his own success as on his arrival; he set the Premier League on metaphorical fire and any less than that is deemed an unsuccessful season, when in reality it is not.
