Mohamed Salah’s agent has dismissed a claim that the Egyptian will leave if Liverpool fails to qualify for the Champions League this season.
Responding to a now deleted tweet from Anfield Watch suggesting that Salah would leave, Ramy Abbas Issa took to Twitter to strongly rebuke the claim.
“Nonsense. This was never discussed or thought about. Not qualifying to the Champions League hasn’t even crossed our minds”, he wrote in a quote tweet on his page.
The rumour that sparked this originally came from the Spanish outlet Fichajes.
Liverpool currently sit seventh in the Premier League nine points off of fourth with two games in hand. While they are also on the brink of Champions League elimination after losing 5-2 to Real Madrid last Tuesday.
Salah is currently the top goalscorer in the Champions League this season with eight goals one ahead of Kylian Mbappe.
Since joining Liverpool in 2017, Salah has become one of the best players to play for Liverpool and during his time has won the Champions League, Premier League, FA Cup and League Cup.
Last summer, the 30-year-old signed a contract extension until 2025.
