The rivalry of Liverpool and Manchester City is fairly fresh but there is still a lot of bad blood between the two teams.
Excluding the 2022/23 season, it has been a two-horse race between Pep Guardiola and Jurgen Klopp for the Premier League title.
With the race often going down until the last day.
This season has been no different as Liverpool and Manchester City have both been in stellar form this season.
The two teams currently sit atop of the Premier League table with just one point separating them.
The Reds will be looking to cause an upset and earn the top spot in the league, allowing them to have some bragging rights over their rivals.
In their last five games, LFC are unbeaten and will be looking to extend their run on Saturday.
Each of Mohamed Salah, Dominik Szoboszlai and Luis Diaz will also be looking to make an impact on the game following their strong performances during the international break.
Another statistic which goes the way of Liverpool is the fact that the last time Man City won Liverpool in consecutive league matches was in 1937.
This showcases how back and forth each of the games have been when the teams have faced one another.
However, during their last meeting, Guardiola’s side thrashed Klopp’s men 4-1.
The Cityzens have won each of their last 23 home games in all competitions. A victory against the Reds on the 25th November would equal the current record.
Liverpool team news
Fortunately for Klopp, there have been no new injuries in the run up to the City game.
In his pre-match press conference, he stated “only the long-term absentees” are set to miss this season defining match.
The likes of Diaz and Gakpo could all feature in Saturday’s match.
Both Darwin Nunez and Salah should be guaranteed starters due to their recent form.
One surprise player who could feature is starlet, Kaide Gordon.
The winger has recently returned from injury and has started to train with the senior squad.
If the youngster is called upon, it shows how much faith Klopp has in Liverpool’s youngsters.
Manchester City team news
Over the course of the international break, a handful of the Cityzens’ starting players withdrew from their national team squads.
However, the majority of those who were withdrawn have magically been healed in time for Saturday’s game.
Meaning that the likes of Erling Haaland and Ederson are all set to play on the 25th November.
