Wout Weghorst was seen touching the ‘Anfield sign’ before Manchester United’s humiliating defeat to Liverpool at Anfield.
Previous comments have resurfaced and it is clear to see that Weghorst is a huge admirer of Liverpool.
In an interview with GOAL.com in 2020 the Dutch international said:
“I always found Liverpool very special. I still get goosebumps from ‘You’ll Never Walk Alone’. There are other great English clubs too, and I always liked Milan because so many Dutch played there.
In a different interview in 2018 with De Telegraaf, Weghorst spoke of Liverpool and said, “I’ve dreamt of [playing for Liverpool] since childhood.”
At least one Manchester United player had some joy at Anfield.
