Luis Diaz feels ‘so special’ to have a fan song

Luis Diaz has provided 13 goals and five assists across all competitions.

Luis Diaz has expressed his appreciation for the song dedicated to him by Liverpool supporters, emphasizing his determination to reciprocate the faith he has been shown.

The fan chant has gained prominence in recent months as a tribute to the Colombian player, who was named the Reds’ Standard Chartered Men’s Player of the Month for April.

Diaz has been deeply moved by this gesture.

Approaching the end of his second full season at the club since his transfer from FC Porto in 2022, Diaz has amassed 49 appearances in all competitions this season.

During these matches, he has contributed 13 goals and five assists, while also boasting the highest number of minutes played among outfield players in the Liverpool squad, second only to Virgil van Dijk

“It’s something beautiful and special because every time we go out to give it our all. To uphold the institution, the club. To do what I came to do from the first moment I arrived,” Diaz told

“I always wanted to perform well. I always wanted to be one of the best, trying to respect everyone. Seeing the fans sing that song, that beautiful song, leaves you something very nice marked for you, to take as a memory.

“I’m very happy. I thank them very much for what they are doing. I always go out happy to the field because I know I have their full support.”

He added: “I have grown a lot.

“From the beginning of my career to today, I feel that with the passage of days, of years, living each experience in each different team, coming to this great club that is Liverpool, leaves you with a lot of learnings.

“You learn more and more to be a professional, to be a better person, to be a good teammate and a good guy.

“The truth is that I am very happy to be here.

“Great years are coming for the club, I have no doubt about that.

“Personally, I will always try to do my best, always try to give 100 per cent, to always stand out on the field, which is what I came [here] to do. I’m always grateful to God for every opportunity.”
