The Mirror now report that Newcastle United, Chelsea and AC Milan are interested in the Norwegian and Liverpool may have their work cut out for them if they want to sign the midfielder before the end of the transfer window.
The 24-year-old has 18 months of Premier League experience with Sheffield United and is the exact kind of profile Liverpool would want in a defensive midfielder.
The Reds will have to rebuild their midfield in the summer, with the departures of James Milner, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Naby Keita all imminent, as all three are out of contract at the end of the season.
