Liverpool transfer target Leroy Sane has disclosed that he is delaying contract talks with Bayern Munich.

Sane has been strongly linked with a move to Anfield as a possible replacement for Mohamed Salah who has just two years left on his remaining contract with Liverpool.

The 27-year-old has forged a reputation as one of the best forwards in the world following his impressive goal-scoring exploits for Bayern Munich in the past seasons. He has scored 47 goals in 151 games and won three successive Bundesliga titles.

He is a key cog for Thomas Tuchel, featuring in all 11 league games so far this season as they lie second in the table with 29 points, just two points behind leaders Bayer Leverkusen.

The Germany international, just like Salah has two years left on his contract with the Bundesliga champions and there are increasing doubts over his future at the Allianz Arena, with Manchester City also interested in signing him.

“I haven’t given it any thought. The club wants to have discussions but at the moment I want to concentrate on the season. Bayern will be my first point of contract, everything else will take care of itself,” he said when asked about his future in a press conference.

“I am taking on more and more responsibility, on and off the pitch. I really like the role and position at the moment. Julian [Nagelsmann] knows me very well and I want to repay that with good performances.

“I had good preparation and played into a flow. At the moment I’m really enjoying myself at the club and in the national team. I have big goals. Tomorrow will of course be relatively loud.

“Of course we’re looking forward to it. I was able to experience it in the Champions League in Istanbul, but also in Munich. There will be a lot of Turkish fans there and there will be a good atmosphere.”
