Napoli defender Kim Min-Jae has excelled in Luciano Spalletti’s world-beating side this season, but his performances are often out shone by those in the forward line.

His manager spoke to DAZN and has named him the ‘best centre-back in the world’ as English giants Liverpool, Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United are all sniffing around.

“Kim does at least 20 incredible things per game,” Spalletti said.

“For me, he truly is the best centre-back in the world. When he starts to run, he can get into the opposition penalty area in five seconds flat.” the Italian manager added.

The 26-year-old is one of the main reason Napoli’s defensive record is so clean as they sit 18 points clear in Italy’s top division.

Napoli were forced to replace Kalidou Koulibaly as he moved to England to play for West London side Chelsea and Kim has settled in effortlessly.

Liverpool are eager to sign Kim this summer, according to II Mattino.

The Red’s defensive vulnerability was showcased in Saturday’s 1-0 loss to Bournemouth and amid Klopp’s plans of a squad overhaul, Kim would be a brilliant choice in the defensive department.

The South Korean kept Liverpool’s roaring front three quiet in front of a home crowd and would have caught Jurgen Klopp’s eye in the process.

Former Liverpool midfielder Danny Murphy has chimed in to say that the defender’s price tag is likely to grow exponentially if a bidding war does occur.

“His performances have been so good,” Murphy told the BBC during the Qatar World Cup.

“I was talking to someone, he said that Manchester United are in for him and they’re talking £100m. (Napoli) have been sensational this season, him included.”

He arrived for a steal price of just £16m from Turkish outfit Fernebache but his price tag is likely to sky-rocket if Napoli are successful in the Champions League.
