The future of Roberto Firmino has been up in the air for some time now, with the striker’s current Liverpool deal expiring this summer. Jurgen Klopp has made it clear that despite the arrivals of Darwin Nunez and Cody Gakpo he still wants Firmino to stay at Liverpool beyond the end of his contract.
Sky Sports Germany’s Florian Plettenberg now reports that despite offers from Saudi clubs, Firmino wants to sign a new deal at Liverpool until 2025. It seems Jurgen Klopp will get his wish and keep the Brazilian at the club.
If a contract renewal for Firmino goes through, Liverpool will be set to have one of the most formidable strike forces in Europe with Firmino backing up Mo Salah, Darwin Nunez, Cody Gakpo, Luis Diaz and Diogo Jota.
Firmino has racked up 9 goals and 4 assists in 21 appearances for the Reds this season. He is due to return from injury in the coming weeks.
News #Firmino: Clubs from 🇸🇦 are still pushing but clear tendency now and at this stage: Contract extension with Liverpool! At least until 2025. He wants to continue at the highest level.

As much as I love Bobby as a person and player however if we sign him to a new contract, then we are done as a top club because it’s time for him to go, just because he’s had a good season so far this season, that doesn’t excuse the fact that the past two seasons, he was crap to the point where it made us look like we were playing with 10 men. We need to be ruthless and say enough is enough, time to go and thank you for your service, you are welcome to come back in some capacity to the club but not as a player.
