After it was announced that Pele had sadly passed away last night at the age of 82, a number of current and past Liverpool players paid tribute to arguably the greatest football player ever.

Despite never having played in Europe, Pele is universally revered for what he accomplished in the game for both Brazil and Santos. And three of Liverpool’s Brazilian players paying tribute to him including Fabinho, Arthur and under 23 goalkeeper Marcelo Pitaluga.

The Premier League has also this morning confirmed that teams will engage in a minute’s applause and wear black armbands this weekend to mark the passing of Pele. Liverpool’s encounter with Leicester tonight will be one of the first two games to take place that will include the tribute.

Everyone at DaveOCKOP sends our condolences to the family and friends of Pele.
