Liverpool reportedly eyeing swap deal for Inter Milan midfielder

The Croatian has impressed at the international level for Croatia and was a mainstay in the Croatian team that reached the World Cup final in 2018.

Inter Milan’s Marcelo Brozovic is reported to be on Liverpool’s radar, with Italian publication calciomercatoweb.it reporting that the Reds are eyeing a player plus cash offer for the Croatian midfielder.

Liverpool’s Naby Keita is out of contract in the summer and is reported to be the player Liverpool would offer to Inter in exchange for Brozovic, alongside a transfer fee. Brozovic is estimated be valued at around 35 million euros.

Primarily a defensive midfielder, Brozovic has enjoyed a hugely successful spell in Italy, winning 1 Scudetto, 1 Coppa Italia and 2 Italian Super Cups. The midfielder has played for a long time at an elite level, amassing 302 caps for Inter Milan, scoring 30 goals and registering 37 assists from midfield since his arrival at the club in 2014.  He has scored 2 goals in Seria A this season.

Barcelona are also reported to be interested in the Croatian with the Catalans considering a swap deal of their own, seemingly ready to offer Franck Kessie in exchange for Brozovic. The Croatian has impressed at the international level for Croatia and was a mainstay in the Croatian team that reached the World Cup final in 2018. His significant pedigree has made him one of the most well-regarded defensive midfield players in Europe over the last 5 years.
