Ahead of their inevitable midfield revamp in the summer, Liverpool are scouring the market for potential players to join their new era at Anfield.

The latest to be subject to the rumours is Napoli’s all-round midfielder Stanislav Lobotka who has been an integral in the Italian side’s rampant form this season.

According to Italian outlet CalcioMercatoWeb, Liverpool could be tempted to submit a £44m for the 28-year-old, and Napoli would find it difficult to refuse.

The Italian side are flying domestically and are firmly in the race for Champions League success but could still lose some of their key players to interested suitors this summer.

Slovakian superstar Lobotka could be on those jumping ship from Naples.

Liverpool would welcome Lobotka into their squad with open arms amid their new rebuild project, with midfielders Alex-Oxlade Chamberlain and Naby Keita more than likely to leave the club.

Failure to finish in Champions League qualification, however, may dampen the mood in the Liverpool camp as it may mean their transfer budget is slashed and so, their pursuit of the world’s biggest stars would be hindered.

Lobotka has risen from the unknown to becoming a household name in Italy, but at 28 years of age, the Reds could look elsewhere for a young, emerging talent instead.
