Germany international Jonathan Tah has been linked with a move to the Premier League. Leverkusen are now managed by former Liverpool man Xabi Alonso. Tah has two years left on his current deal with Leverkusen.
Tah has been a consistent starter for Alonso as the Spaniard has led Leverkusen out of the relegation zone into 10th place in the Bundesliga since his appointment as manager last October.
Tom Gott and Graeme Bailey report for 90min.com that the centre-back wants a move to the Premier League. Tottenham Hotspur and Nottingham Forest were both reportedly trying to bring Tah to their respective clubs during the most recent January transfer window.
Gott and Bailey report that Liverpool and Newcastle United also spoke to intermediaries about a January move for Tah.
The 27-year-old has played over 200 games for Bayer Leverkusen and has 16 senior caps for Germany.
With the rumoured departures of Joel Matip and Joe Gomez in the summer, Tah would seem an interesting option for Jurgen Klopp.
