Liverpool have been linked with a move for Real Valladolid right-back Ivan Fresneda.

The 18-year-old is described as “one of European football’s biggest promises at the moment”, by Spanish publication AS.

Fresneda just turned 18 in September and according to the report a host of clubs want to sign him. He has made 6 La Liga appearances this season.

After signing the promising Calvin Ramsay at the start of the season one would think that a move like this would make sense if Jurgen Klopp was considering moving Trent Alexander-Arnold further forward.

The report links Liverpool and a number of clubs with the Spaniard including Arsenal, Newcastle, Wolverhampton, Leeds, Everton, Brentford, Southampton, and Fulham.

The report states that his current release clause is €30M but will rise to €45M after 22 appearances.

The Athletic have also reported that Liverpool are interested in Fresneda but are just one of a number of Premier League clubs tracking him.

However, reports in Spain suggest that the right-back is set to join Arsenal.

According to eldesmarque.com Arsenal have taken advantage of Real Madrid’s uncertainty and have practically closed a deal for Real Valladolid right-back. The report states Mikel Arteta personally convinced the player to join and he will fly to London in the coming days.
