With Liverpool in need for reinforcements in the middle of the field it was expected a host of names would be linked to the Red.
According to The Daily Mail, one of the surprise names now being linked to Liverpool is Chelsea’s Conor Gallagher. The newspaper states that Liverpool ‘like’ the England midfielder, who shone when he played at Crystal Palace forcing his way into the England national squad.
It’s expected that Chelsea will wrap up the signing of Benfica’s Enzo Fernandez today and they’re still being heavily linked with a move for Brighton’s Moises Caicedo too.
With two potential big name players making their way to Chelsea, it seems that they’ll be needing to get some of the existing players off their books.
It’s just been reported that Jorginho is a ‘done deal’ to join Arsenal, but it’s also expected that Conor Gallagher may also be on the move.
It was widely expected that Gallagher would be joining Everton as part of Sean Dyche’s new regime, seemingly as a replacement for Anthony Gordon who has joined Newcastle United.
However, it’s unclear whether Gallagher would like to join Everton as they’re currently in a major relegation battle.
So, could it be possible that Liverpool could jump in and usurp Everton’s attempts at signing the midfielder? Jurgen Klopp has mentioned that there’s not much more to expect from Liverpool in this transfer window, but with so many top four rivals reinforcing their ranks, there must be conversations happening internally at Anfield around what is and isn’t possible for the club.
