
According to Rome based newspaper La Repubblica, Liverpool FC are one of a number of major European clubs chasing Argentine World Cup Winner and Brighton Hove & Albion’s Alexis Mac Allister.
Liverpool FC, Inter Milan, Juventus and Borussia Dortmund are interested in securing the signature of a player who shown brightly in Qatar.
It is no secret that Jurgen Klopp is anxious to add energy to his midfield. Mac Allister has shown quality, versatility, energy and an eye for goal this season for Brighton.
In six appearances in Qatar, Mac Allister scored one goal and one assist in a team that was designed to fulfil the needs of the great Lionel Messi.
Pep Lijnders praised Mac Allister’s World Cup performances before Liverpool played Manchester City.
“They (Argentina) play to their strenghts. Enzo (Fernandez), McAllister, how they manage midfield together with Rodrigo, but especially these two. How they balance each other. Messi, not to speak about.”
In the Premier League, Mac Allister has scored five goals in fourteen appearances. This statistic in particular will interest Liverpool fans.
Goals from Liverpool’s midfield have not been a regular feature in recent seasons, with much pressure resting on the shoulders of their illustrious forwards.
Mac Allister’s ability to score from deep will be a welcome addition.
