Ahead of a potential switch to Liverpool, the club have been keeping tabs on Borussia Dortmund’s attack-minded midfielder Julian Brandt.

A midfield revamp is imminent in Merseyside and with four players out of contract soon, a Borussia Dortmund target not named Jude Bellingham could be Anfield-bound for the right price.

According to James Pearce, German boss Jurgen Klopp is a ‘big fan’ of Dortmund’s playmaker and referenced a time when he tried to sign him back in 2017.

The German giants, at that time, were not open to selling Brandt, but it seems Klopp’s desire to have his fellow countryman under his wing has not died out.

Brandt has 18 months left on his current contract for the German club and has been a standout performer in the Bundesliga this year, catching the eye of Jurgen Klopp in the process.

The talismanic midfielder has registered 14 goal contributions in 32 appearances across all competitions, including 12 in the Bundesliga.

According to 90min, a series of Premier League clubs have all ‘watched’ Brandt over the course of the season, with Italian giants Inter Milan and Napoli also admirers of the German international.

However, the driven interest has inclined Edin Terzic to initiate talks for keeping Brandt in Dortmund for longer and they are confident of this.

The Merseyside outfit failed to secure the Bremen native six years ago but may be sniffing around to ensure a deal is done this time round.
