Liverpool are willing to pay the proposed £21m fee for 19-year-old midfielder Alberto Moleiro, according to Mundo Deportivo.
The young Spanard is reportedly eager to move to Spanish giants Barcelona, but their current financial situation may limit their transfer activity for the foreseeable future.
There also seems to be little competition for Moleiro’s signature.
Only Aston Villa are monitoring the situation of Moleiro, so Liverpool may see this signing as one that would be easily feasible.
However, that is not the case.
If Moleiro’s Las Palmas side were to be promoted to Spain’s top division, Moleiro’s release clause could skyrocket to £53m.
Should this happen, Las Palmas are reportedly likely to hold on to the youngster for a bit longer.
At the ripe age of 19, Moleiro is playing regular football at his boyhood club with them sat top of the table in La Liga 2.
Described as ‘magic’ by his manager, it is understandable that Klopp has been keeping tabs on the youngster’s progression.
A fee as low as £21m would be a clever piece business with the potential of the Spaniard in mind, but if the asking price jumps up too far, the alternative options available become more appealing.
