Liverpool are eyeing up a promising transfer for Josko Gvardiol, the ever-reliable Fabrizio Romano has revealed in his latest YouTube video.
Despite their recent turn of form and their most recent domestic outing excitement, Jurgen Klopp and his entourage are still on the hunt for reinforcements in the defensive department.
Croatian international Gvardiol has been highlighted as a possible incoming for the Reds in the summer window.
His accomplished performances in Qatar has proved that the hype is well-informed and the club that snatches him will have a potential superstar in their roster.
However, there are many clubs who are interested in signing the RB Leipzig defender, including Real Madrid and Manchester City.
Fabrizio Romano has also suggested that the Reds have already initiated contact with German club RB Leipzig over a potential deal for the defender.
Premier League club Chelsea are adamant on signing the promising 21-year-old given their previous pursuit failed to materialise.
A transfer battle may be on the horizon, but Liverpool will be delighted to know that Gvardiol has reiterated that the club remains his dream.
Centre-back availability remains a chink in Klopp’s armour and has been evident this campaign with many out of form and many often unavailable through injury.
In particular, Virgil van Dijk has been criticised for being passed his prime and his long-term prospects at the club have been questioned after some poor performances.
So it seems that Gvardiol may well be the long-term replacement to Dutchman Virgil van Dijk who has come under scrutiny this term for his underwhelming performances.
Or he may be brought in to partner the club captain in a partnership that could well set the world alight, with enough talent to make your mouth water.
Regardless of his status within Klopp’s central defender options, Gvardiol would settle in well to Liverpool’s squad and would definitely be one to watch in years to come.
